Structure Your Log

This section describes how Memstone uses categories and activities.

  • Categories are used to group activity types together. An example of a category is “Exercise”.
  • An activity type is a specific thing that can be logged, such as “Went for a walk” or “Swimming”.

You may have chosen for Memstone to add some example categories and activity types to get you started.

To view your Memstone categories, tap the menu button and select Categories.

Adding a new category

  • Tap the + button to add a new category.

New category

  • Enter a name for the category, such as “Pets”.
  • Choose an icon (here I’ve selected a paw print).
  • Choose a colour.
  • Tap Save.

Editing a category

  • Long-press a category and select Edit from the menu.
  • When viewing a category’s activity types, tap the pencil icon next to the category name.

Select a category to view the activity types that can be logged for that category.

Adding a new activity type

Tap the + button to add a new activity type (after selecting a category).

Creating a new activity type

  • Enter a name for the activity type, such as “Started a new book”.
  • Choose an icon (here I’ve selected a book).
  • (Optional) Add fields. These are specific pieces of information that you want to log for that activity type.
  • Tap Save.

Editing an activity type

  • From Categories, select the category and then the activity type you want to edit.

    • Started reading
    • Finished reading
    • Bought a book
    • Borrowed from the library
  • Entertainment
    • Played a computer game
    • Played a board game
    • Watched a movie
    • Finished watching a TV series
    • Went to the theatre

    • Did a yoga class
    • Did a CrossFit class
  • Family/friends
    • Add each member of your family or friends so you can log things you’ve done together.
  • Food
    • Cooked a meal
    • Had a takeaway
    • Ate out
    • Opened a jar or can (so you can track when you might want to check whether it is still OK to eat)
  • Household
    • Did some gardening
    • Did some DIY
  • Pets
    • Took to the vet
    • Got a vaccination
  • Personal
    • Had a haircut
    • Had your nails done
  • Travel
    • Day trip
    • Went on holiday
